We are fighting for the estimated 51,000 lives that could be lost each year if the so-called "Big Beautiful Bill" is passed—legislation that would kick millions of Americans off Medicaid and strip away vital healthcare protections.
Our die-in represents a powerful form of protest where participants symbolically lie down to represent death and the devastating loss of life that systemic injustices create. Throughout history, die-ins have been used to demand action on critical issues including HIV/AIDS, gun violence, environmental destruction, and healthcare access.
